The Big South Fork Region is not only blessed with a treasure trove of places for the horse lover to enjoy, but it is also a haven for the golf enthusiast. Crossville is known as the golf capital of Tennessee, boasting of 5 public and 4 semi-private courses. Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park Golf Course, located at the nearby Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, is also ranked as one of the top rated courses in the country. Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park Golf Course, located near Burkesville, Kentucky and on Dale Hollow Lake, is accessible by land and by lake. This scenic 18-hole course was built in 2003 and estimates around 25,000 rounds of golf are played there annually. One of the Kentucky State Park's signature courses,

Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park's Golf Course offers undulating fairways with most of the holes featuring elevation changes. Other features of the course include numerous rock outcroppings, small caves, springs, gorges and mountain views. The banks of the 61 bunkers are steeply faced. Bear Trace

Located at the Cumberland Mountain State Park is one of a series of courses designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus for the Tennessee State Park system. Named one of the "Top Ten Courses in Tennessee" by GOLF Digest in 2001 and "One of the Top Ten Courses You Can Play" by GOLF Magazine in 1999 following being named the "1998 Top New Course in Tennessee" by local and regional golfers; honors abound for this prestigious course.

Deer Creek Golf Club

A semi-private club and a favorite among locals and visitors alike, Deer Creek Golf Club offers a relaxed four hour pace of play over the scenic course. The beautiful mountain vistas, still lakes, rolling fairways, and lush greens beckon you along the 18-holes of the course. The course is rated 3.5 stars by Golf Digest's Places to Play.

Lake Tansi Village Resort

Offers a semi-private golf course that plays host to several Tennessee PGA section events. This 18-hole course offers short narrow fairways and undulating greens that require precision on all shots with many water hazards, sand bunkers, thick rough and encroaching trees providing a demanding round for the scratch golfer. The course also offers the high handicapper, a truly enjoyable experience as well.

The River Run Golf Club

Features a signature Par 3 island green surrounded by the beautiful mountain scenery. This course also boasts of the longest hole and the shortest hole in Cumberland County (Crossville, TN). Water and tree hazards come into play on most holes, creating a real challenge for any golfer. The course was designed by Ron Garl and has been given a 3-star rating by Golf Digest's Places to Play.

Stonehenge at Fairfield Glade

This course has long been rated one of the top public courses in Tennessee. Nestled in the Cumberland Mountains near Crossville, Stonehenge offers a world-class 18-hole golf course designed by Joe Lee. The course gets its name from walls of native stone and rock outcroppings that come into play on several holes. The course consistently receives 4 stars from Golf Digest's Places to Play.
